Good-bye Little Red Balloon

You were like a little red balloon...
I had you once,
tied on my hands
wherever I go...

Then slowly
your strings started to loosen
Then I just let go of you...
Up- up and away
from me...

I told myself
There are more balloons downtown...
I'll just get a new one-
more colorful than you and
with strings stronger and won't loosen.

Days and months and years passed by...
I'm still empty-handed.
Yeah, there are a lot of balloons down here...
They come in different colors and strings and shapes
but no one is as catchy as you-
Indeed, there is no one like you...

My little red balloon...
Someone is holding you now...
He had your strings tied
not on his hands but
on his heart...

I can't get you back anymore
So I'm blowing my bitter-sweet goodbye
Forever...
