Man of Faith - Jacob (The Cheater with a Purpose)

"Remember, I will be with you and protect you wherever you will go, and
I will bring you back to this land.
I will not leave you until I have done all that I have promised to you."

Genesis 28: 15 TEV

Life is full of uncertainties and struggles. We never know what will happen to us, where the tests of time and opportunities will bring us and who will be with us.

Jacob fled for his life because his brother Esau was furious with him and was ready to kill him because he believed that Jacob cheated him- first by having his right as a first-born son just for a bowl of bean-soup then by getting their father’s blessings before his death. He risked his life by leaving his family. On his way in the wilderness God appeared to Him in his dream and made a promise that He will bless him.

We are like Jacob. In our life, we sacrifice precious things, we tend to become bold and aggressive in order to achieve our dreams and we come to a point where we face life all by ourselves. During the process, doubt and fear come along. We feel anxious of what will happen to us, what would be the outcome of every action we do, and who will help us.

God’s promises were not only for Jacob. They are also addressed to us.
God wants us to know that:

1.       HE WILL BE WITH US AND PROTECT US.

When no one is around us and we feel that we are facing life’s battle alone, God will be with us. He is our protector from all harms, from all of unwanted and undesirable things as we journey in life.

2.       HE WILL BRING US BACK TO OUR LAND.

In our quest for success, we leave our loved ones, we turn our back to our friends who have their own dreams too, and we leave our home that served as our comfort zone. But we have to always remember that God will make a way for us to be reunited with whom we left, He will carry us back home where we really belong.

3.       HE WILL NOT LEAVE US UNTIL HE HAVE DONE ALL THAT HE PROMISED TO US.

In our journey in life, we will surely meet different people that become our friends while others become the opposite. Not all of these people will stay beside us because they also have their own journeys. When everyone else leaves, it is only God whom we've got and all we need.

They say that “promises are meant to be broken.”
But these are for promises that are man-made. When God makes a promise, He will fulfill it. He has His own plans for us. He already knew what lies ahead of us. We just have to trust Him and make ourselves qualified and deserving for His promised blessings.

So, in our lives, if everything seems to be in disorder, if our journey seems to be lonely, difficult and endless; when we already don’t know what to do; when all else fails and no one is around, lean on to God. Hold on to His promises and let Him guide us.
