Everything that happens in our lives has a purpose. 

Even the darkest and most painful events play significant role in our lives and of other people around us. God will use them to make us a better person and so that He can use as an instrument to fulfil His plans.

Joseph had a lot of dreams during his childhood that upset his brothers so much. Because of these, he was sold to some Ishmaelite traders who also sold him to the King of Egypt's servant.

His life in Egypt became miserable but God stayed with him and continued to bless him. When the King of Egypt had a bad dream that none of his advisers, magicians and fortune-tellers were able to interpret, Joseph was able to, so he was made the governor of the King for the whole Egypt. When the great famine devastated Egypt and its neighbouring nations, God used Joseph to save the lives of many people including his family in Canaan who thought that he was already dead.

Despite of the evil thing that his brothers did to him, Joseph didn't nurture ill-feelings towards them. He never planned to get even with them, to take vengeance even after their father- Jacob died.

Forgiveness ruled Joseph's heart that's why God was able to use him. Joseph turned his bad fate as a child in order to become a better person. He used the opportunity of being away from his family without any certainty if he will be reunited with them, as an inspiration and motivation to be a better man - faithful and loyal to God and his family.

So, make it a decision that no matter what happens in our lives, be like Joseph- stay connected to God and your family.

Treat all negative experiences an opportunity to grow, and to be a better person, willing to accomplish God's calling.
