Disconnect
Disconnect.
Shut your windows and doors.
Hang that black sheet
that any ray of light can't penetrate.
Turn everything off.
Listen to the sound of silence and
let your eyes wonder
what lies within the darkness.
Ponder.
Think of the things that went wrong;
things that were done but shouldn't been and
things that were undone but should have been.
Call to mind
people that are gone;
people that stay still and
people that are worth missing.
What dominates your feelings?
Loneliness?
Cry if you must.
Let your eyes well down.
Let your inner rain pour out
as your heart is being shaken and stormed.
Let your tears make a cascade on your face
as your throbbing heart deafens your ears.
Lie down.
Curl yourself like when you were still unborn-
like when you were still afloat that bag of water
inside the womb of your mother-
a dark cage that never made you feel locked-up.
Savor the moment.
Take comfort inside
because whether you like it or not,
time will come for you to come out.
Disconnect.
Cut from your mother's knot.
Make your crying be loud
so everybody will hear and realize
that you are alive.
Open your eyes.
Wonder on the moving shadows like ghosts.
Listen.
Wonder on the whispers that you can't understand.
Make your first kick.
Did you feel it?
You are alive!
Unveil.
Let the morning sun nourish and strengthen you.
Let the dainty morning mist kiss your face.
Soon you will rise up and walk
Soon you are ready to run the race.
until your next
disconnect-
to the world but
not to life.
