White War

Image
White walls and ceiling, white marble floor, white tables and chairs. A white, box-like room. White curtains. White scrub-suits and coats worn by nurses and doctors rushing and panting or seemingly dancing to a rhythm they can only hear. White light that fight dominion over the night. White line that the dying patient seems to follow unless snapped back! by a needle prick or spirit of alcohol or pierced with a cannula then anti-death medicines and fluids flood that shrinking veins or pumped hard and bagged. Intubated then hooked to life saving machines and monitors. Flat-line. The doctor called it and raised the death toll. White sheet covers the dead body atop the white cold bed. The adrenaline rush is over The black angel won the white war.

The Shot-glass' Curse

Image
Pass that shot-glass on and crack those silly jokes open. The night goes deep but just keep that shot-glass going round and round and round. Then one shot and that glass shed its bitter curse. Those silly jokes heated up nonsense arguments. Then one more shot and those arguments were tamed but they became devious whispers. Then one more shot and those devious whispers invited   sinful caresses. Then he drunk that last shot and he started tasting a pair of bitter-sweet lips. How he wished he did not take that last shot because he is now haunted by that shot-glass' curse.

Caprice

Image
Your watchful eyes caught him. They looked at him with judgement. Their suspicions were unveiled. They are excited to reveal more of him. Unmasked. This seemingly good and innocent-looking face revealed its dark side. As you look into it, the darker it becomes- the more evil it looks like. Look how in just few days you triumphed! You won the battle that he never knew how and when it started. And you will always win because you are holding an ace that will destroy him anytime. He is doomed. You unlocked his Pandora's box. Unearthed the skeletons that he's been keeping inside. Now you know that the murmurs of the itchy tongues are true. All the good things are burnt and produced a suffocating smoke that no one dares to breathe in. They will never help him stand tall. They will never save him from this caprice.

Serenity

There is serenity found in the sea. The kind of peace that everybody yearns for... The music made by tireless waves going back and forth and The laughters of children and those that are young at hearts. The towering trees that survived the storms Like families sticking together amidst all odds. Nourished and nurtured by the magnificent sun. The vast blue sea and sky that turn crimson as the setting sun flirts with them. Ahhh... What a genuine peace indeed... To just sit and be in awe. To be alone without feeling lonely Because There is serenity in the sea.

Disconnect

Image
Disconnect. Shut your windows and doors. Hang that black sheet that any ray of light can't penetrate. Turn everything off. Listen to the sound of silence and let your eyes wonder what lies within the darkness. Ponder. Think of the things that went wrong; things that were done but shouldn't been and things that were undone but should have been. Call to mind people that are gone; people that stay still and people that are worth missing. What dominates your feelings? Loneliness? Cry if you must. Let your eyes well down. Let your inner rain pour out as your heart is being shaken and stormed. Let your tears make a cascade on your face as your throbbing heart deafens your ears. Lie down. Curl yourself like when you were still unborn- like when you were still afloat that bag of water inside the womb of your mother- a dark cage that never made you feel locked-up. Savor the moment. Take comfort inside because whethe...
